Consistency

I haven't been posting in this blog as much as I would like and that is something I fully intend to change; just like I will change myself both physically and mentally. I have been fairly consistent with my nutrition and workout regime which has brought me some very great results so far.

I will continue pushing and achieve the body I want.

Grinding Oatmeal increases GI Index?

I like to grind oatmeal in my protein shakes because they are full of fiber and it makes things quick and simple. I should have known that nothing is simple in the world of bodybuilding. There are usually two camps for or against any particular issue. In this case it happens to be about whether grinding oatmeal will raise it's GI Index to a point that it becomes more of a detriment to weight control.

What I have found out so far has been "broscience" coupled with some valid points, those being ground oatmeal will require less digestion and quicker digestion might mean a slightly higher GI Index. Essentially the information I found leads me to believe if you are really worried about Ground Oatmeal being higher in the GI Index you have a slightly stricter diet than the average individual and therefore it should not be a major cause of concern.

My New Training Split for 2011

I've been doing the Strong-lifts 5x5 program for awhile as my main plan but I feel I need a change this year so I am going to be trying Layne Norton's Power/Hypertrophy Split. Utilizing both heavy weight with low reps and moderate weight with higher reps I will be able to work the muscle differently with each workout. I'm still working on personal changes to the routine but I hope to have a rough draft up by tonight.

2011 Transformation

This is the year I fully transform my body. No excuses or regrets, it is time to put it all on the line. Tomorrow I will complete my workout plan and post it accordingly. I'm doing light work while prepping for this but I am really looking forward to getting started. Time to push my limits.

Getting Organized

So I'm a huge believer in having things organized and planned. I used to just exercise with what I thought was intensity and eat with no real plans. It was not until I started tracking and logging my workouts and nutrition did I truly begin to see results. So the lesson I took away from that is by at least attempting to organize my life and having life goals planned I can increase productivity and reach my goals in a timely fashion.

Christmas Challenge

This Christmas I'm going to do something different. Since I'm by myself this holiday season once again I have found you have to keep finding ways to stay motivated. I'm not sure what the challenge will consist of but it is going to be intense. Stay Tuned for info and video.
